Chihuahua and Dachshund Dogs Available for Adoption
FRIDA D10989 *ARRIVING 5/1
Chihuahua, Dachshund
April 20th
female, small, adult
DESCRIPTION
Frida is the definition of a loving, easygoing adult dog, she's a total sweetheart.
Frida fully potty trained and absolutely amazing on walks. She loves being outside and is a fantastic walking partner: steady, focused, and happy to keep moving with just the occasional sniff stop. Squirrels might catch her eye, but she knows "leave it" and listens well. Once she's had her outdoor time, she's more than content to head inside and curl up next to you for some quality snuggles.
Frida isn't a fan of rowdy, in-your-face dogs or hyper puppies. When she's all done, she'll calmly correct or remove herself and come to her people. Because of this, she'd do best in a calmer home or with respectful dog companions who match her laid-back vibe.
She may bark a bit when left alone, but overall she's a relaxed, affectionate girl who just wants to be near her people. When you come home, expect a few minutes of excited "play mode" before she settles right back into cuddle time.
Important to note, Frida is a bit of an escape artist- if there's an open door or gap, she may try to take advantage of it, so she'll need a secure yard and a home that's mindful about keeping her safe.
If you're looking for a devoted, low-key companion who will happily walk by your side and then snuggle up for the rest of the day, Frida is your girl
Frida is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 5/1/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
