Your rainy day just got a whole lot cozier. Meet Cosmo Cozy, an 8-month-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, weighing 7 pounds (as of 3/5/26). This adorable boy was surrendered from a hoarding case which works out for you because now he can join your home and give you all the cuddles in the world!
Cosmo is like your favorite drink, favorite food, and watching your favorite show on a cozy day all wrapped up in one. This cuddle bug loves to give kisses and he hopes you'll give some back, just be sure to chew a mint first! When he's not taking breaks for hugs, his favorite activity is running around outside since he's still young and full of puppy energy, kind of like how you used to be. He would do great with other dogs and cats and tolerates kids more than most people would. Cosmo may be shy at first when meeting strangers, but he'll win them over once he's fully comfortable.
Cosmo can get a little nervous by himself, so he would really thrive in a home with other dogs. The more the merrier he always says!
Cosmo doesn't have as much experience with leashes but has started working on collars, harness and recall along with crate training. He'll also need some love and patience from his future family when it comes to potty training, but he'll use potty pads and is going outside 70% of the time! Which is more than we can say for you! He's very smart and wants to please and hopes to master these skills in no time.
With Cosmo around, you won't even need that weighted blanket! Bring him home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
