Meet Lady – The Sweet & Graceful Little Cavalier

Lady is a beautiful red Cavalier who truly lives up to her name — she is every bit the little lady. Sweet, gentle, and full of charm, she carries herself with a calm and loving presence.

She is crate trained, housebroken, and walks nicely on leash. Lady does wonderfully with other small dogs and enjoys their companionship. Social and affectionate, she loves attention and thrives when she’s close to her people.

With her gentle heart and graceful nature, Lady is truly a special little girl who will make an exceptional companion for a lucky family.

All our dogs are microchipped, heartworm negative, and fully vaccinated. They also receive regular heartworm medication, flea and tick treatment, and deworming medication. Adopt with confidence, knowing your new companion is ready for a loving home!

We're excited that you've found a dog or cat you're interested in! To help streamline the adoption process and ensure we have the necessary information about potential adopters, please follow these steps:

1. Understand the Difference: Submitting an inquiry or application on Petfinder is not the same as applying for the dog or cat. Inquiries provide us with minimal information about the potential adopter, making it challenging for us to evaluate suitability.

2. Submit an Application: We kindly ask that you submit an adoption application on our website to be considered for adoption. Please choose the appropriate application link below based on whether you are interested in adopting a dog or cat:

3. Be Patient: Keep in mind that we are a volunteer-based organization, and we receive a high number of inquiries and applications. Due to these constraints, we may not be able to respond to every inquiry individually. However, submitting an application provides us with the necessary information to consider you as a potential adopter.



TRANSPORTS

We are based in Columbia, KY, and extend our services to other locations through our transport program. To ensure the safe and responsible transport of our animals, we currently only transport to these destinations: Greenwood, IN, Wilmington, OH, Washington, PA, and Mount Joy, PA.

To be eligible for transport, dogs/cats must meet specific criteria:

1. Approved Application: You will need to submit an adoption application for the animal and receive approval. Please also note that clicking the "I'm Interested" button on PetFinder is not an application. To start the adoption process, you need to fill out an application on our website.

2. Deposit Paid: A deposit must be paid as part of the adoption process.

3. Transport Contract Signed: The potential adopter must sign a transport contract, indicating their commitment to meet the dog on the designated date.

The 'Transport' label next to each animal's name signifies that this animal is available for transport, but please remember that this transport service is exclusively for dogs that meet the above criteria. This ensures the safety and well-being of the animals throughout the journey.

To view the adoption fees for our animals, please go to the "Dogs" or "Cats" tab and select "Available Dogs" or "Available Cats." Then, click on the profile of the animal you are interested in. The adoption fee for each animal is listed on their individual profile page.

Please note that the adoption fees listed on our website are for in-state adoptions within Kentucky. Out-of-state adoptions will incur additional fees, which must be paid upfront as deposits.

Additionally, the adoption fee listed on Petfinder includes the total fee, including transport. You may notice a lower fee on our website when viewing the animal's profile; this fee is for in-state adoptions only.

Before reaching out to us, please take a moment to review these frequently asked questions. We strive to provide you with all the information you need right here. Please understand that due to the high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to questions covered in this FAQ section.

1. Are your dogs potty trained?

Unless the dog's bio specifically states that they are potty trained, you can assume they are not. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter.

2. Do you transport to other locations?

Currently, we transport to Wilmington, Ohio, Greenwood, Indiana, Washington, PA, and Mount Joy, PA.

3. Is this cat/dog still available?

If the cat or dog is listed on Petfinder and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal.

4. How long does it take to hear back about my application?

It can take up to 10 days to receive a response from us. If you do not hear back within this timeframe, please understand that we may have chosen not to move forward with your application. We are a volunteer-based organization and, while we read every application, we may not be able to respond to each one individually.
