Meet Darcy, a 2-year-old Red Heeler weighing just 27 pounds — a petite little cattle dog with the sweetest heart.

Darcy was surrendered by the only family she has ever known because they were moving. She has been with them since she was a puppy, so understandably she is a bit nervous and confused right now. She doesn’t quite understand why her world changed.

But once Darcy feels safe and begins to trust you, she is incredibly sweet. She is gentle, calm, and simply wants love and security. She bonds deeply and just wants someone who will show her that she is home for good.

Darcy is not overly hyper like some heelers can be — she has a softer, more tender personality. At just 27 pounds, she is small and manageable, making her a wonderful fit for many types of homes.

What Darcy needs most is consistency and a forever family who will never give up on her. She deserves stability, patience, and a safe place to land.

Sweet Darcy is heartworm positive and receiving treatment at the shelter, but for her future home she will need to be kept up to date on prevention and will need regular vet exams.
