DESCRIPTION
Dingo is a striking 21⁄2-year-old Cattle Dog with bright, alert eyes and that ready-for-anything energy these breeds are known for. He’s the kind of dog who notices everything — smart, tuned in, and always aware of what’s going on around him. If you’re looking for a companion who wants to do life with you, Dingo is listening.
He loves movement and purpose. Long walks, a jog through the neighborhood, a car ride with the windows cracked, or a good game of fetch in the yard — that’s his language. Tennis balls, rope toys, squeaky toys... if you toss it, he’ll happily chase it. He already knows "sit" and "stay" and enjoys engaging his brain just as much as stretching his legs.
True to his herding breed roots, Dingo may try to guide fast-moving activity — it’s simply what these dogs were bred to do. With consistency, activity, and a patient, understanding approach, he settles in beautifully and forms strong bonds with his people. He thrives when he’s included and near the action. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side comes through in the sweetest ways.
Dingo has experience around school-aged children and cats. As with any intelligent, active herding breed, respectful interactions and supervision with younger kids will help set everyone up for success. He also enjoys other dogs, though like many adult dogs, he prefers to choose his friends thoughtfully.
If you appreciate a clever, active dog who wants to partner with you — whether that’s outdoor adventures, enrichment games, or just being your constant shadow — Dingo may be your guy.
As always, we recommend bringing all household members — including resident dogs — to meet Dingo to help ensure the best possible match.
ABOUT: CATTLE DOG DOG BREED
The Cattle Dog is a diligent and robust herding breed known for its agility, intelligence, and hardworking nature. Originating in Australia, Cattle Dogs are highly energetic and require ample exercise and mental stimulation. With their remarkable problem solving skills and unwavering loyalty, they excel in various canine activities and make excellent companions for active owners. Their distinctive blue or red coat, sturdy build, and alert expression reflect their heritage as versatile working dogs.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
