Meet Rosco!
Rosco is an Australian Cattle Dog mix who is only ONE year old—and he has already spent half of his life waiting in a kennel at BGWCHS. Six months. Half his life. Let that sink in.
This sweet boy has been overlooked time and time again—not because he isn’t amazing, but because shelter life just isn’t made for a dog like Rosco. He’s a true heeler at heart—smart, driven, and full of energy. He needs a job, a purpose, and someone willing to guide him. Without that outlet, he gets overwhelmed. The barking, the jumping, the herding behaviors—it’s not who he is, it’s the environment he’s stuck in.
While other dogs have come and gone, Rosco has stayed behind, barking out his own version of "please pick me." Instead, he was given a "Do Not Touch" sign—when in reality, all he’s ever wanted is someone to take a chance on him. And oh, what a dog he is ??
Rosco ADORES other dogs and has done amazing in playgroups with 20+ dogs. He loves kids, loves people, and is a total "Velcro dog" who wants to be right by your side at all times. He’ll climb into your lap, cover you in kisses, and perk up the second he hears "go for a ride." He does great on a leash and even comes with a harness that will go home with him! He is almost housebroken, just needing a little consistency and patience. His only real requirement? A cat-free home, as he does have a high prey drive.
Rosco would absolutely thrive on a farm, with some land, a job to do, or even just an active home that will give him the time and structure he’s been missing. He’s the kind of dog who will be your shadow, your partner, your best friend—the one riding shotgun (or trying to help drive the tractor?).
