“Some dogs come into rescue because they were unwanted.
Phoenix is not one of them."
We’ve known this beautiful girl for 6 years. She has been deeply loved her entire life. Due to unexpected health challenges and a necessary relocation, her family has made the heartbreaking decision to find her a new home that can give her the stability she deserves.
Pheonix is and 8/9 year old mixed breed with a calm, sophisticated presence. She is fully trained, off leash reliable, wonderful with people and kids, and can be social with other dogs when properly introduced.
While she may be considered a “senior” don’t let that fool you. She loves an active lifestyle, enjoys her walks, and mostly just wants to be wherever you are. She is the kind of dog who settles beautifully at your feet after a hike and makes your home feel whole.
Because her stability matters to us, adopters will need to complete training sessions with us prior to bringing her home to ensure the transition is thoughtful and successful.”

ABOUT: CAROLINA DOG DOG BREED
The Carolina Dog, a primitive breed known for its wild ancestry, is a medium sized, agile, and intelligent dog originally found roaming freely in the Southeastern United States. With a distinctive appearance marked by erect ears, a bushy tail, and a sable coat, Carolina Dogs are highly adaptable, affectionate with their families, and wary of strangers, making them excellent watchdogs. Their natural hunting instincts and independence require consistent training and an active lifestyle to thrive in a loving home environment.
