Mavis is incredibly devoted and forms strong bonds with her family. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is very submissive, making her a great playmate for young and small pups. She’s doing great with house and crate training and loves to eat! Adopting Mavis means bringing home endless joy and companionship. She's the perfect addition to any family looking for a loyal and loving friend!

Mavis has been microchipped, vaccinated, and kept current on monthly preventatives. She is due to be spayed soon. For the first steps of adoption submit an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application. For questions you can email the foster home at julianshumate@gmail.com.

ABOUT: CAROLINA DOG DOG BREED

The Carolina Dog, a primitive breed known for its wild ancestry, is a medium sized, agile, and intelligent dog originally found roaming freely in the Southeastern United States. With a distinctive appearance marked by erect ears, a bushy tail, and a sable coat, Carolina Dogs are highly adaptable, affectionate with their families, and wary of strangers, making them excellent watchdogs. Their natural hunting instincts and independence require consistent training and an active lifestyle to thrive in a loving home environment.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
