DESCRIPTION

**Please read Hooch Spirits' entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!**

Meet Hooch Spirits, a 13-week-old (as of 3/15) Carolina Dog/Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing 13 pounds (as of 1/30/26)! Hooch and his siblings are known as the SPIRITS litter and were surrendered by their owner in Tennessee after being born (though Momma is happily staying with the owner!) This ball of energy is excited to bring some much needed fun to your very sad and dull life! Bonus points if you're a detective named Turner, 'cause we got Hooch for you!

**UPDATE: I can’t say enough good things about Hooch! He’s the most affectionate little guy and the perfect balance of sleepy snuggle bug and silly goofy puppy energy.
He is equally as happy taking a nap on the couch, playing with his toys, or chewing on a bone - as long as he’s doing it with his people!
Hooch is great with other dogs and loves children. While he is friendly to most everyone he meets, he can be a little shy around certain people, so he could use a family that is going to work on building his confidence. He is good in his crate and sees it as his safe space where he can snooze for a few hours when his people are out. He is a very smart boy, who already is making major progress in potty training, leash walking, and learning tricks.
Hooch has brought so much fun into our lives, and is going to make the best addition to anyone’s family!

From his foster: So far I can tell you he is such a cuddly dog. Loves to nap, sleeps well in the crate getting up for bathroom breaks. A little timid to new things. Loves my kids ages 13 & 18. Does well in the car, Doing pretty well potty training. He is going to be an amazing addition to a new family and we are going to really miss him.**

Hooch is a spirited guy who's always looking for his next adventure! Everyone around you will be charmed with his puppy cuteness. In fact, instead of going to Happy Hour with your coworkers, you'll probably make an excuse to stay home just to spend more time with Hooch (but don't tell them that!)

Hooch is a caring boy who has lived with other dogs and loves kids! Both his parents are nice mellow medium to large breed dogs, so get ready for a lot more to love as he continues to grow! Since he's still a puppy (and living in a barn), Hooch will need patience from his future family when it comes to the potty train express, overall puppy training and commands. But this guy's determined to be the best family member possible! (That includes bribing you with lots of kisses.)

Get ready for some playfulness coming your way with Hooch Spirits!

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Hooch Spirits, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $575] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
