Meet Buttercup — the pint-sized princess with big ears, short legs, and a whole lot of personality!
Buttercup is a female Cardigan Welsh Corgi estimated to be about 11⁄2 years old and weighing around 28 pounds. This cutie patootie was found as a stray, and sadly no one came forward to claim her—but their loss is about to be someone else’s huge gain.
Like most Corgis, Buttercup is bright, curious, and full of energy. Corgis were originally bred as herding dogs, which means this little lady is smart as a whip and always ready for action. Don’t be surprised if she tries to gently "herd" you around the house with her adorable enthusiasm—it’s in her DNA. Experienced Corgi owners preferred.
With her short, stubby legs, fluffy rear, and irresistible face, Buttercup is truly a living stuffed animal. But don’t let the cuteness fool you—this girl loves to play with toys, go for walks, and stay busy. She’ll do best with a family that appreciates an active, intelligent dog who enjoys both playtime and learning new things.
While here at the shelter, Buttercup has shown potential with other dogs. Her compatibility with cats and children is currently unknown.
Buttercup is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means she can begin settling into your home while she waits to see the shelter veterinarian. She will still need to be spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for heartworm.
If you’d like to add this precious, wiggly girl to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and submit an online dog adoption application to meet her. Buttercup’s adoption fee is $300. Get your applications in because this sweet girl won’t be around long.
