Fostered in Kitchener
Ivy is a very sweet, scruffy Cairn Terrier mix who is looking for her forever family! She is 4 y/o and weighs 10lbs.
She is fully housetrained, not having any accidents at all adjusting to her foster home. She is also crate trained, often choosing to be there during the day and deciding to tuck herself in when it’s past her bedtime. She doesn’t know many tricks but she is very clever and learns very quickly how to get what she wants, so she should be an easy student!
She comes to us from Texas so she loves to be in a warm sweater, as you can see. She’s a playful, excitable girl but is very apprehensive around new people and dogs. She is very enthusiastic on walks, often pulling on her lead and can be expected to bark when she sees another canine nearby. She would be fine in an apartment as she is not terribly vocal.
Once she’s had her daily engagement, she loves to burrow under a blanket and snooze the day away. Every dog loves a big stretch, but Ivy will have you wondering if there is a world record for longest/most stretches in a day.
Ivy gets along well with her foster sister who is similar in size but can be a bit timid of larger dogs. She hasn’t been around kids or cats in her foster home. She would be fine as the only dog, or would welcome another dog her size. She is very good when left alone; we've left her for four hours and she did fine. We think she would be okay left longer as well.
