OUT-OF-TOWN Dogs with NDR refer to dogs we have saved that have yet to make their journey to Ontario. These dogs are currently in our care with the help of our partners in the area. These dogs will all travel to the Niagara Region once an appropriate adopter or local foster is found.

Foster insight/story:
Waffles is the kind of dog who sneaks into your heart quietly… and then suddenly you can’t imagine life without her.
When she first arrived in foster care, Waffles was a little timid as she tried to figure out her new surroundings. But within just a few days, she began to blossom. Now her sweet, people-loving personality shines brighter every day.
Waffles truly wants to please the people around her. She’s affectionate, gentle, and always happy to soak up attention. Butt scratches are one of her favorite things in the world, and she already knows how to sit on command. She also walks nicely on a leash, making her a wonderful companion for neighborhood strolls and little adventures.
She’s been introduced to cats and does great with them. She’s curious and polite, giving them a sniff but showing no fear or aggression. Waffles has also spent time with children and was loving and playful with a 10-year-old, happily joining in on the fun.
When meeting other dogs, Waffles is calm and respectful. She enjoys sniffing and exploring and seems comfortable being part of the group. In her foster home she’s been surrounded by family members ranging from ages 10 to 55, and she’s loved the attention from everyone.
Waffles originally came into the shelter with her three siblings, all named after different fries. She was quickly adopted, but sadly she wasn’t properly cared for and was returned months later with skin issues that needed time and care to heal. The shelter wasn’t the right place for her recovery, so she was placed into foster where she could finally rest, heal, and feel loved.
Now Waffles is thriving and ready for a fresh start with a family who will give her the care and love she has always deserved.
