THE BLEEDING HEART SOCIETY*
"Never forgetting the Forgotten"
******************************************************
PUP: CHA CHA
AGE: About 2 years old
WEIGHT: Just under 50 lbs
1- FRIENDLY? WITH DOGS? CATS? KIDS?
This girl is people-friendly, dog-friendly, and cat-friendly. She is very sociable, and a sweetheart of a dog. We haven't seen her with children, but can easily imagine her as "kid's best friend."
2- ENERGY LEVEL?
On a scale of 1-10, we would rate her about a 5 on energy. Very pleasant and an easy-going energy gal.
3- AFFECTIONATE? KISSES? HUGS?
Yes, Cha Cha is affectionate. She warmly engages you, and would love an opportunity to cuddle on the couch (an opportunity we don't know that she has ever had)..
4- GENTLE?
She is friendly, gentle and loyal.
5- SMART? CURIOUS? COMMANDS?
Yes, she is curious and smart. She learns fast, and knows SIT and SHAKE.
6- BRAVE? PROTECTIVE?
Yes, she is brave for having come out of all she has been through (multiple breeding and left for dead). And given her forgiving and loving nature, she isn't going to be the best guard dog.
7- WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT HER?
She is a lovely girl inside and out. It's easy to smile when you are around her.
8- WHAT DOES SHE LIKE? DISLIKE?
She loves to walk and play, and isn't much of a complainer.
9- WHAT MAKES HER UNIQUE?
She has the cutest underbite!
10- HOUSE-TRAINED? CRATE-TRAINED?
She is crate-trained, and is currently in a 5x10 kennel, where she keeps the area clean. If for whatever reason she isn't house-trained, we suspect she could learn very quickly.
11- STORM Or SEPARATION ANXIETY? BEHAVIORAL ISSUES?
We have not seen any anxiety or behavioral concerns.
12- HOW DOES SHE WALK ON LEASH?
She's an angel and walks well on a leash.
13- HOW IS SHE IN THE CAR?
She's great in the car!
14- HIGH FOOD DRIVE?
Normal
15- PREY DRIVE?
We assume normal. On an additional In the midst of the vet's office with dogs & cats. she was seen "wagging her butt the whole time."
.
16- WHAT AREAS COULD SHE IMPROVE UPON?
Probably realizing that life with you can be normalized as an everyday thing!
17- ANYTHING ELSE?
CHA CHA originated from Mexico, and was brought into Texas. She was used for puppy breeding, and when a mixed-breed dog mounted her, the owner killed the puppies at birth, which caused her mastitis. Surgery resolved the issue, and within a month and a half, she has recovered quite well.
19- IDEAL HOME/IDEAL LIFE? This young lady could fit well with virtually any good home/family - single pet family, multi-pet family, first time dog people, and anyone enjoying retirement.
20- WHAT IS THE BLEEDING HEART SOCIETY?
The Bleeding Heart Society refers to the dogs who were not just abandoned by their people, but also by the rescues who promised to save them. Many of them have been abandoned for years (and some their entire lives), in boarding facilities without anyone to advocate for them. THESE DOGS ARE JUST AS ADOPTABLE AS THE PUPS WE HAVE HAVE IN FOSTER HOMES. In most cases they were NOT abandoned because of behavioral or health issues. They are wonderful dogs who have simply been forgotten. These pups are living a life sentence they do not deserve. They are merely existing day in and day out with very limited freedom, joy or companionship.
In an effort for our hearts to bleed no more, we are initiating a separate effort to promote these specific pups to those who would like to join us on this mission of restoring their destiny to be in a stable home, to live a life worth living, and to love people worth loving.
Only a select number of our dogs are classified under THE BLEEDING HEART SOCIETY. If you would like to see who else falls under this category, please send us an inquiry or email to see who all is currently available. Again, The Bleeding Heart Society only refers to the abandoned environment & conditions the dog has been left in. While the scenario is not desirable, these pups certainly are both loveable and adoptable.
