DESCRIPTION
Darwin is a big guy who's a little scared of the world. He seeks comfort from his human buds and it's impossible not to hug him and squeeze him like the baby he is when he leans his face nervously into you! This bub has come such a long way since he arrived at NHS. He's gaining confidence daily and it's so sweet to see him come into his own. He loves to gently explore on leash, always making sure you're close by. He seems housetrained and mostly ignores other dogs on walks. When it's time to relax, he loves, loves, loves to get close and cuddle. And it's hard to resist his soft coat and eternal puppy eyes. You'll be in the palm of his hand (paw?)! Darwin will need someone who'll keep helping him get comfortable in the world. He'll need to meet any potential dog siblings before going home and may do best with a lady dog. Come meet this cutie! Darwin is a Diamond Dog and will be shown by appointments or walk ins as time permits. Diamond Dogs are dogs that are currently getting extra work and training from staff and volunteers through our behavior program. ABOUT: BOXER DOG BREED
The boxer is a medium to large sized dog breed known for its muscular build, distinctive square head, and energetic personality. Boxers are loyal, affectionate, and good natured companions, making them an ideal family pet. They are intelligent, playful, and love to be around people, making them excellent with children. Boxers require consistent training, plenty of exercise, and socialization to thrive. With their strong work ethic and protective instincts, boxers excel in various roles, including as service dogs, therapy dogs, and in dog sports.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
