Penelope is an approximately one-year-old Boxer mix who was found wandering the streets of San Antonio, and she's so ready for her fresh start. This sweet girl has been fully vetted - spayed, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and vaccinated - and now all she needs is a family to call her own.
Penelope is on the shy side at first, but she's blossoming more every single day. Once she feels safe, her affectionate nature shines. She absolutely loves to cuddle and be close to her people. Her favorite place is right next to you - leaning gently against your legs or curled up beside you on the couch. And when she's around her people? Her tail wags so fast it's practically a blur.
She weighs about 50 pounds, but her short little legs give her the cutest, slightly compact look. She walks nicely on a leash, is crate trained, and is potty trained - such a good girl.
Penelope is okay with other dogs, though she can get overwhelmed and nervous in busy situations. She would likely do best in a calm, patient home that will continue building her confidence. She hasn't shown much reaction to cats so far, though she has recently become interested in outdoor critters, so her full personality in that regard is still unfolding.
