Charlotte, une Boston terrier de 10 ans et demi, cherche sa famille pour la vie, où elle pourra couler des jours heureux. Malheureusement, Charlotte s'est retrouvée au refuge après que son propriétaire, contraint de déménager, n'ait plus pu s'occuper d'elle et de deux autres chiens.
La vie en chenil est très éprouvante pour les chiens, surtout pour une femelle âgée comme Charlotte. Son monde a basculé du jour au lendemain. Charlotte est sous traitement pour la maladie d'Addison, une affection due à une carence en hormones stéroïdiennes, touchant principalement les glandes surrénales. Le stress est très néfaste pour Charlotte et peut avoir un impact considérable sur sa santé. Déprimée, elle refusait de manger et vomissait. Elle a donc été placée en famille d'accueil, sous la supervision d'un membre de l'équipe médicale. En deux jours, son état s'était nettement amélioré : elle avait retrouvé sa joie de vivre et son appétit.
Charlotte recherche une famille adoptive douce, calme et bienveillante. Elle peut vivre avec d'autres animaux (chiens et chats) relativement calmes. L'agitation la rend nerveuse. Nous pensons qu'elle n'est pas habituée à rester seule à la maison, car elle peut être anxieuse dès que vous quittez la maison et se mettre à hurler et à pleurer. C'est une vraie petite chérie, qui adore être avec son humain et être toujours à vos côtés. Elle est toujours collée à vous sur le canapé à regarder la télévision et adore dormir sous les couvertures. Charlotte, a 10.5 year old Boston terrier is looking for her forever family, where she can comfortably live her senior years. Charlotte unfortunately ended up at the shelter after her owner could no longer keep her and 2 other dogs due to moving.
A kennel environment is very hard on dogs, especially a senior like Charlotte. Her world was turned upside down so fast. Charlotte takes medication for Addison's disease, which is a condition caused by a deficiency in steroid hormones, primarily affecting the adrenal glands. Stress can be very harmful on Charlotte, and this can affect her health greatly. As Charlotte wasn’t doing well, she was depressed and not eating, and vomiting she quickly left in foster care with a member of the medical team. Within two days she was doing much better and back to her normal self and back to eating well.
Charlotte is looking for a nice calm and gentle adoptive family. She can live with other pets (dogs and cats) that are relatively calm. Too much excitement for Charlotte makes her flustered. We believe she is not used to being home alone, as she can be anxious once you leave the house and she will howl and cry. She is a real sweetheart, loves being around her human, always close by.
