Mattie and Odie’s beloved human is now in hospice care, and these two sweet souls are looking for a new forever home where they can stay together. They are a deeply bonded pair and truly rely on one another.

Mattie is a 14‑year‑old Border Terrier, about 26 lbs. She may be mostly deaf, but she understands hand signals beautifully. She loves playing ball, exploring by your side, and simply being near her people.

Odie is an 8‑year‑old Shih Tzu, weighing 18 lbs. She’s a gentle little lapdog who adores being close and offering quiet companionship

They have received wonderful care by their human, and are spayed/neutered and up to date on veterinary care and grooming.

Mattie and Odie is part of Mercy Hospices' Pet Peace of Mind program. We believe that pets are family and strive to find loving forever homes for our patients pets. They are in Union, Missouri.

The Border Terrier is a small, fearless, and affectionate breed known for their devotion to their families. With a wiry, weather resistant coat and an otter like head, they were originally bred for hunting foxes and vermin along the Scottish border. These energetic and intelligent dogs excel in various canine activities, including agility and obedience. Their friendly and playful demeanor makes them wonderful companions for active families, especially those who enjoy outdoor adventures with their loyal four legged friends.

Hospice treats the entire family, and we believe pets are family.
