Meet Nini! She’s a Collie mix, is around 3yrs old and weighs about 55lbs.

If you’re looking for a protective, observant, and energetic companion, Nini might just be your perfect match! At 3 years old, Nini is a devoted, intelligent girl who thrives when she has a purpose — whether it’s keeping a watchful eye, showering you with affection, or playing fetch like a pro.

Nini’s journey hasn’t been easy. After spending her first three years with a family, she was heartbreakingly surrendered to a Houston shelter when they said they no longer had time for her due to work travel. On September 4, 2024 — the very day she was set to be euthanized — her foster mom stepped in and saved her life. For the past six months, Nini has been blossoming in foster care, learning, loving, and waiting patiently for the forever home she deserves.

Nini quickly bonded with the teenage boys in her foster home and adores her dog brother, Onyx. She’s playful, cuddly, and loves spending time at the dog park. She’s also spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative, and on both heartworm and flea prevention.

While Nini has made great progress, she can still be reactive to unfamiliar people or dogs — especially in high-energy or fast-moving environments. With continued consistency and professional training, she will continue to grow into her full potential. Because of this, she would thrive best in a calm, low-traffic home without frequent visitors.

Her foster mom says her favorite thing about Nini is the way she looks at her each day — with eyes that ask, “What do you need from me?” Whether it’s love, protection, play, or companionship, Nini is always ready to give her whole heart.
