Double the Love, Double the Joy - Meet Slim & Sadie

Sadie is a beautiful, gentle soul with the heart of a fighter. She and her brother Slim were found as tiny strays outside of Houston just as a brutal winter freeze was setting in. Our rescue team rushed them to safety, but their start in life was anything but easy. After a long hospital stay and the heartbreaking loss of their littermates, Sadie and Slim emerged as the two strong, healthy survivors.

Because of everything they’ve been through — especially those early days in the hospital these two have formed an extraordinary bond. They are each other’s comfort, confidence, and constant. For that reason, we’re hoping to do something we rarely do: find them a forever home together.


Sadie is thoughtful and a little shy when meeting new people. Slim is the braver of the pair and often helps show her the way. Both pups may need a little time to warm up — but once they know they’re safe, their sweet, affectionate natures shine. They melt into cuddly, loyal companions who just want to be close to their people.

They don’t just survive, they thrive with love.

Age: Approximately 4 months old (as of February 5th)
Weight: Around 20 lbs each
Breed Guess: Rescue mix; their mom appeared to be a medium-sized Border Collie mix
Training: Very smart and eager to learn! They’re already making great progress with kennel training, potty training, and house manners.

Like all puppies, Slim and Sadie are looking for a family committed to helping them grow into confident, happy adult dogs both together and as individuals. They would thrive in a home that offers:

- Ongoing training and socialization to help them blossom

- Inclusion in daily life they want to be true members of the family

Most of all, they need a loving home that sees how special their bond is and wants to protect it. After everything these two have endured, we believe their future should be filled with warmth, adventure, and unconditional love.


Adoption Details

Slim and Sadie are currently fostered in Houston, Texas, and can be transported to many locations across the country.
Adoption Fee: $600 for one pup, or $900 for the bonded pair
(Fee includes third-party transport costs.)
