Border Collie and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

MIKAELA

Border Collie, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Richmond, California
February 19th
female, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Mikaela is a gentle, sensitive soul who just needs a little time to feel safe. She can be shy when meeting new people or entering new environments, but with patience and a calm approach, she slowly begins to open up. Once she trusts you, she shows her affectionate side and will sweetly lean in for comfort and reassurance.

With a medium energy level, Mikaela enjoys playtime and companionship but also appreciates a peaceful environment where she can relax. She does well with other dogs, though she benefits from slow introductions and continued socialization to help build her confidence. Ongoing positive experiences with both people and dogs will be important as she continues to blossom.

Mikaela is affection motivated, making gentle praise and loving attention the best way to connect with her. Because she can be timid, she would do best with dog-savvy children 13+ who understand how to respect her space and move at her pace. She is not a fit for a home with cats.

In the right home - one filled with patience, structure, and kindness - Mikaela will grow into a deeply devoted companion who forms a beautiful bond with her people.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
