Border Collie and Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

Choreo (A565901) came to us as an owner surrender at no fault of his own, and now he is simply looking for a fresh start. About a month ago, Choreo’s world changed suddenly when his family had to leave the country. It was not a situation anyone planned for, and through it all, he was cared for by a roommate who did their best to keep him safe until he could come into our care. Our goal now is to find him the same kind of loving, stable home he once had. Choreo may be young, but he is a genuinely good boy. He is social and enjoys being around people. He can be a little timid during first introductions, but it does not take long for him to warm up and show his sweet, friendly personality. Once he feels comfortable, he is happy to be part of whatever you are doing. According to his previous owners, Choreo is potty trained and understands the command “no.” He previously lived with a female dog and two cats and did well with them. He has not yet been tested with other dogs since arriving here, but his past history is encouraging. He also grew up in a home with children ages 9 to 11 and did well, though he can play a bit enthusiastically at times and may not always realize his own size. He would likely do best with kids who are comfortable around dogs and understand playful energy. Choreo has already experienced a big life change. What he needs now is consistency, patience, and a family ready to welcome him in and let him settle back into being someone’s beloved companion. Choreo is guesstimated to be 1 year old and weighs 50 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.
