DESCRIPTION

Hansel is a truly special boy who was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill animal shelter in Texas. We believe he was saved for a reason—someone out there needs him, and fate is waiting to bring them together.

Hansel is loving, people-oriented, and very smart. He aims to please, stays close by, and would be a wonderful companion for just about any activity, from walks and playtime to relaxing at home. He plays well with other dogs and enjoys being part of the group.

Hansel has done great with kids, including visits from children ages 2, 8, and 10. While he hasn’t been extensively cat tested, he showed no reaction to cats in the shelter, and we’re happy to cat test him again if you have a feline at home.

Hansel is ready to be someone’s loyal best friend—all he needs now is his forever family.

Upcoming Travel
Friday & Saturday — January 30th and 31st.

This dog is in Texas and is available to travel north on our scheduled trips, which run at least twice each month.

Due to recent technical changes on this site that began in early December, dogs fostered outside an adopter’s immediate area may not appear unless filters are adjusted. We encourage adopters to read profiles fully and reach out with any questions — we are always happy to help. Inquiries through the site are not always coming through. If you send an inquiry and we do not answer, we didn't get it. You can use our direct email at atasnp@gmail.com or text/call 469-241-0000.

Upcoming Transport
Friday & Saturday — January 30th and 31st
Please see pick-up locations below.

Important notes:
• We cannot do meet-and-greets. The trip is long and demanding, and it would not be safe or fair for a dog or puppy to travel north and then return to Texas.
• No deposits are accepted.
• All adoption fees are paid in person at pick-up.

Most puppies travel with two rounds of vaccines, and sometimes three. Occasionally, we may not have had a puppy long enough for a second round.

Puppies under 6–8 months of age are not spayed or neutered. Spaying or neutering is a required condition of adoption and must be completed by the puppy’s first birthday, at the adopter’s expense. Out-of-state surgery costs are not included in the adoption fee.

About Our Rescue
Atlanta Texas Area Spay Neuter Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Adoption proceeds go directly toward:
• Spaying and neutering dogs for low-income families in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana
• Medical care for rescued puppies and dogs
• Emergency veterinary assistance for families in need when possible

All dogs remain in Texas foster homes until adopted.

Breed Disclaimer:
Breed is our best estimate based on the puppy’s appearance and, when known, the mother’s appearance. Fathers are rarely known, and litters can have multiple fathers, meaning puppies may be half-siblings with different breed mixes.
