Bloodhound Dogs Available for Adoption

We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State. We are a local foster home based rescue.

Who can resist a smooshy Bloodhound? Dexter is an irresistible fella who loves everyone and hopes that everyone loves him! He is very sociable and enjoys visiting local dog friendly breweries where he always makes new friends. Dexter will be happiest in a home where his people will included him in their plans. He is lonely when left home alone and has been known to bark when he is lonely. Dexter would be a great hiking, jogging or camping buddy. Just say the word and he is ready to go when you are!

Dexter has been great with other dogs that he has met along the way. He would enjoy a canine companion that possesses the same respectful demeanor that he possesses. We don't know if Dexter has ever lived with cats but his loving nature tells us that he would be fine in a home with a dog savvy cat who has a safe place to observe Dexter while he adapts to his new home. Dexter is housebroken, crate trained and loves going for leash walks.

Dexter recently received a wellness exam with bloodwork. While in our care he was neutered and had a cyst removed from his tail. Dexter is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is 5 years old and weighs 65 pounds.

Please note, we have approximately a 200 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. The bloodhound is a large scent hound known for its exceptional tracking abilities. With a distinctive wrinkled face and droopy ears, these dogs have a keen sense of smell, second only to the beagle.
