Meet Rooster!
This handsome 4-year-old, 90-lb Black Mouth Cur mix is as sweet as they come. He’s a big, gentle guy who loves rolling in the grass, playing with his doggie friends, snuggling up for cuddle time, and keeping himself entertained with his favorite toys.

Rooster has a heart as soft as his fur — he’s wonderful with dogs of all sizes (even tiny puppies), friendly with cats and kittens, and absolutely adores people, especially kids. He’s patient and gentle with the little ones, often found lounging beside them or soaking up their affection.

He’s a self-proclaimed couch potato at heart, happiest when he’s cozy and close to his people. While Rooster isn’t a fan of tile floors, car rides, or thunderstorms, he takes comfort in being near those he loves. He’s fully potty trained and does great in the crate as long as the door is left open. With a bit of patience, his mild crate anxiety can easily continue to improve.

Every now and then, Rooster might need a reminder about what counts as a chew toy—but with love and guidance, he’s quick to learn.

*Disclaimer: Rooster is currently located in Texas and can be adopted either locally or out of state. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit. We allow adoption fees to be paid via goods and services if desired to give our adopters extra security and protection.
