Dawson is a black lab mix who just wants to love and be loved. At 8 years old, this refined gentleman is past the days of puppy energy and is happiest lying in the sunny yard with some snacks. He is extremely calm, gentle, and quiet, and would fit wonderfully into a low-activity household (work from home, retired, etc.). Car rides are not his favorite, and he can get overwhelmed in crowded places (but did very well at his first adoption event!), but he wants nothing more than to be near his people in his home.

Dawson gets along great with his smaller dog foster sibling, though he is not overly interested in playing. He could be happy in a home with other low-key doggy friends or as the only dog in the home. Due to his large size and his love of the "lab lean", he may be too big for young children, though he loves people of all sizes. Dawson walks nicely on a leash but is just as happy wandering the yard, and he has already learned some basic commands. He was a bit unsure of what to make of things when he first arrived in his foster home, but with time and love, he is opening up more every day.

Dawson is truly a gem of a dog who deserves a warm spot in the sun and lots of treats to live out his golden years!
