Black Labrador Retriever Dogs Available for Adoption

Rebel #14 is a 9-year-old, gorgeous black male Labrador weighing about 70 pounds of pure sweetness. He may have lost his sight, but he hasn’t lost his joy, spirit, or ability to love deeply. Rebel was surrendered after serving his life as a hunting dog when his vision loss made him “no longer useful.” Despite that heartbreaking turn, Rebel remains happy, playful, and remarkably resilient. He adjusts quickly to new surroundings and navigates his world with quiet confidence — guided by his other senses and, most importantly, by human kindness.

Shelter life was understandably stressful and confusing for him, and our greatest wish is to give Rebel the soft landing he so deeply deserves. He’s a gentle soul who thrives on reassurance, affection, and calm companionship. .

We ask that you please take the time to thoroughly review and understand the policies and procedures outlined on our "Adopt a Lab" page and Sample Adoption Contract prior to submitting an adoption application. To expedite the process, please follow the step-by-step instructions outlined and submit an adoption application listing 3-5 dogs of interest. ADOPTION FEES: $395 non-refundable adoption fee for all vet expenses (spay/neuter, shots, etc.) and transportation to ensure your lab gets to you in a safe, professional manner. All fees may be paid using PayPal, cashier's checks, or money orders. Labs4rescue does not accept personal checks for adoption fees. All adopters must pay their Labs4rescue adoption fee prior to the rescue shipping their dog.

Residents of Massachusetts or New Hampshire are required to pay an additional $125 fee, which defrays the cost of their state's mandatory 48 hour isolation and examination by a licensed veterinarian.
