DESCRIPTION
Bear is an adorable lab mix who we rescued from a local municipal shelter. He is a sweet senior at 10 years old. He weighs in at 50 pounds. Bear came to us with a severe skin issue due to poor care and neglect. With weeks of medicated baths and antibiotics, his skin has improved and fur is growing back in! He is still on the mend and will need continued care. Skin issues can take a while to be corrected and heal up. While performing his medical evaluation we also found out he is heartworm positive. He will need a patient and loving owner to help him through it all of his medical needs, but he is so worth it! SASF will cover all his Bear's heartworm treatment and skin care needs until healed up. Bear is sweet boy who loves everyone he meets. He gets along well with dogs, cats and kids! If you can give this sweet boy the TLC he needs during his golden years, apply for Bear today!
ABOUT: BLACK LABRADOR RETRIEVER DOG BREED
The black Labrador Retriever is a popular and versatile breed known for its friendly nature, intelligence, and loyalty. They are agile, keen swimmers with a strong work ethic, making them excellent hunting and service dogs. Their glossy black coat is low maintenance and sheds minimally, while their friendly temperament makes them great family pets. Black Labs are known for their outgoing personalities and eagerness to please, making them loving companions in various roles and settings.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
