Meet Shine: a Lab mix who almost didn't make it — he and his sister were both on the euthanasia list at SLA. His sister Geanie found her family just in time. Shine had to wait a little longer. At the very last moment, compassionate people stepped in and saved his life.

In the month and a half since, he's been learning what love feels like — that gentle hands are safe, that cozy beds are his, that he is absolutely worth choosing. He has taken to all of it with a gratitude that his foster mom says is impossible to put into words.

Shine is neutered, current on all vaccinations, crate trained, great with kids, and wonderful with other dogs. He doesn't just tolerate cuddles — he melts into them. He'll lean his whole body into you like you're the best thing that ever happened to him. Because to him, you will be.

He survived the shelter. He survived the list. Now he's just waiting for someone to choose him — for good.
