Meet Patrick!
Patrick is a 6-8 year old Black Lab and weighs about 67 pounds. True to his breed, Patrick loves being around people, snuggling on the couch, and LOVES food, making him a very motivated boy when it comes to training!
Patrick came to STAF after being abandoned at a boarding facility. While we don't know much about his start in life, we know that Patrick is the definition of a laid-back, easygoing companion. This sweet boy loves nothing more than lounging on the couch or soaking up the sunshine outside, and he's happiest just being near his people. Whether you're cooking in the kitchen or relaxing on the couch, you can count on Patrick to be right there with you.
According to his foster family, he's a gentle soul who rarely barks and has a calm demeanor that makes him a joy to be around. He loves toys and would love a family who will play with him, but he's just as content to relax and hang out.
Patrick is house-trained and crate-trained. On walks, he's still building confidence and could use a little practice, but shorter strolls are perfect for him right now. Consistency, patience, and of course treats will go a long way with this smart boy. This handsome guy is very food-motivated (he wouldn't say no to a treat!) and may need a watchful eye around kitchen counters. Like a lot of labs he eats quickly, so a slow-feed bowl is recommended. He also has known allergies to chicken and beef, so his diet would need to reflect that. Patrick is up to date on vaccines and is currently being treated for Lyme disease.
While we don't know Patrick's beginnings in life, we would love nothing more than a happy ending for this sweet boy with his forever family. If you're looking for a loyal, mellow companion who will happily keep you company through all of life's moments, Patrick might just be your perfect match!
Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process. *** Email adoptadog@STAF.org for next steps! ***
• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter
