Meet Celly Skates, a 6-week-old Black Lab mix, weighing 6 pounds and 4 oz (as of 4/12/26). This girl was born locally with the rest of her SKATES litter when her then-pregnant mom, Ella Mae Momma Skates, came to Great Dog from the South. Lucky for you, the Skates litter are actually famous athletes who can't wait to skate their way into your heart!

Three cheers for Celly! Named for "celebration," Celly brings every crowd to its feet whenever she scores a winning goal. Sleek, athletic, and impossibly shiny, she moves like she’s gliding on fresh ice, which is a lot harder than it looks! Affectionately called “Celly Bear” by her foster kids for her big black bear paws, she is as powerful as she is cuddly. Everyone deserves to celebrate with some Celly cuddles. And when she turns her head to flash that icy blue eye, it's a showstopper! What a beauty! Celly's power and grace are all wrapped into one stunning pup!

The Skates litter play well with other dogs and should be good with kids because of their teensy and sweet nature. They haven't met cats yet, but even felines recognize when they're in the presence of greatness! Since these pups are still young, they'll need love and patience with all things puppy training (potty, crates, leash, etc.) They can't wait to show you some skating tips 'cause it's too embarrassing watching you fall in the rink! The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
