DESCRIPTION

Four little paws, a wagging tail, and a whole lot of growing left to do—that’s me, Okra Lee! I’m an 8 week old Labrador Retriever mix, already about 16 pounds and still getting bigger every day. I’m your classic happy puppy: playful, curious, and always ready to explore the world around me. I love other dogs and get along great with them. I’d probably do well with kids too, but I should warn you… I’m a wiggly, enthusiastic girl who might accidentally knock over the tiny humans while I’m trying to say hello! Right now I’m working hard on learning all my puppy manners. House training is still a work in progress, but I’m doing great with crate training and getting better every day. I already understand “no,” which my humans say is a pretty good start for a little pup like me. The rest of my training will come with time, patience, and lots of love. My story started when I was found in a parking lot, but I’m ready for the next chapter—a forever home where I can grow up safe, loved, and part of the family. Because I’m an energetic girl, I’d do best in a home with a fenced yard where I can run, play, and burn off all my puppy energy. I’ll thrive with a family who’s excited to train me, play with me, and include me in their daily life. I’m the kind of puppy who wants to be where the people are. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, zoomies in the yard, and a loyal best friend who will grow up right by your side, I might just be your girl.

**As a reminder, puppies will need lots of time and attention during the first year. Before adopting me, please make sure that you have enough time, energy and commitment to devote to my training. Puppies need a lot of care, so everyone in your household should be on board and ready to help out**

My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out*

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
