If you remember the classic adventure movie The Goonies, then you definitely remember Chunk — the lovable, goofy kid with a big heart. Well, our Chunk lives up to the name in the very best way.

Chunk and his siblings were found living in an abandoned house, and much like the kids in the movie, their story was heading toward a pretty rough ending. Thankfully someone alerted our rescue, and we rushed in to help. When we arrived, we found their brave mama nearby. We humanely trapped her to bring her to safety… and sitting faithfully beside the trap, tail wagging and keeping watch over his girl, was dad. So naturally, we rescued the whole family.

Now Chunk and his siblings are safe, thriving, and ready to start their next adventure — finding families of their very own.

At just 2.5 months old, Chunk is exactly what a puppy should be: playful, curious, mischievous, cuddly, and full of joy. His days currently consist of important puppy duties like zooming around with his siblings, investigating everything, collapsing into epic naps, and soaking up all the snuggles he can get.

Chunk has those classic black lab good looks with soft, velvety fur and eyes that will absolutely melt you. His DNA would probably read like a little bit of everything (unless dad had some unexpected competition along the way), but one thing is certain — he’s 100% adorable.

Of course, puppies are a lifetime commitment. They come with muddy paws, chewed shoes, midnight potty trips, training, patience, and lots of learning along the way. But they also come with laughter, loyalty, and a best friend who will love you with their whole heart. And Chunk's foster mom reports that he's super smart and picking up potty training like a champ!

Once submitted, we will reach out to approved applicants by phone. We may also suggest other amazing dogs in our care who could be a great fit for your home.

LOCATION & TRANSPORT:

This dog is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out of town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. (The $450 adoption fee includes transport to the city on this listing. Our transports run every 2-3 weeks to that location.) We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.

VETTING:

All of our dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive to their adopters spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped. NOTE: We cannot guarantee breed mix or full grown size. Both are estimates based on physical characteristics and any known history.
