Meet Juniper! Juniper is a 6-year-old, 90 pound Bernese Mountain Dog who is just beginning to discover what it means to be loved.
After spending her entire life in a puppy mill, Juniper is now learning how to simply be a dog and every day she grows a little braver. She can be shy and anxious at first, but underneath that soft, cautious exterior is an incredibly gentle, thoughtful girl who is slowly blossoming as she realizes the good life is finally hers. Her superpowers include being calm and beautifully well-mannered, walking nicely on leash, and quietly taking in the world around her. She truly enjoys going on walks and exploring at her own peaceful pace.
Juniper is crate trained, house trained, and dog and cat-friendly. She's a bit of a picky eater and isn't especially interested in treats or toys yet, she's still learning what brings her joy. With patience and consistency, her curiosity grows a little more each day.
Juniper would thrive in a patient, quiet, loving home that understands she is still adjusting and allows her to move at her own speed. Watching her build confidence and learn to trust is something truly special. In return, you'll gain a loyal, gentle companion with the kindest eyes and the sweetest soul!
Juniper is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY, and her adoption fee is $600.
Juniper is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
