Swayze is an almost 2yr old Belgian Sheepdog-German shepherd mix with the heart of a survivor and the loyalty of a lifelong best friend. Weighing in at 72 lbs, this beautiful boy has overcome a rough start in life—he was tragically dumped and hit by a car, resulting in severe injuries to both of his hind legs. Despite the pain and heartbreak he’s endured, Swayze has chosen love and trust. He’s one of the sweetest, most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet.

Swayze adores belly rubs, gentle hugs, nose kisses, and he gives the best kisses in return. He knows how to sit and lay down—though he moves slowly due to his past injuries—but his gentle spirit shines through in everything he does.

This playful pup loves toys, running around the backyard, and being outside. He’s curious and clever, so a secure yard is a must—he might try to sneak off for an adventure! While he currently lives with young children and other dogs, we feel he’d thrive best as the only pet in a calm home with dog-savvy teens (15+) and adults who can give him the attention and consistency he deserves.

Swayze is more than just a dog—he’s a loyal companion with a deep capacity for love. After everything he’s been through, he’s ready for a forever home that will never let him down.

Once your application has been approved, a member of our team will contact you to schedule a phone interview and a meet-and-greet. This process can take up to 10 days as we are volunteer run.
