Rescued during a heavy rainstorm in a notorious dog-dumping area, Rooster has already weathered more than most dogs his age. But despite his rough start, this young pup is full of life, love, and loyalty just waiting for the right person to share it with.

Rooster is a handsome, spirited dog with a heart as big as the outdoors he loves so much. He's happiest when he’s outside whether it's exploring trails, trotting alongside you on a hike, or just soaking up the fresh air. He thrives in nature and would love a home where he can spend plenty of time roaming, sniffing, and stretching his legs.

This boy is a protector by nature, with a strong instinct to keep his people safe. He’s looking for a confident, strong person someone who can be his steady guide and best friend. With the right person, Rooster will bond deeply and be your loyal shadow, always ready for the next adventure or car ride (he loves hopping in for a drive!). He also loves kids and has been great with all of them he has met. Melting into their pets.

Rooster gets along great with other dogs and loves to play, but he’s also perfectly content being the only pup in your life. He walks well on a leash, is eager to please, and has a fun-loving, playful side once he knows he’s safe.

Rooster is being fostered in Houston Texas, but is available for adoption/transport many places across the country. The adoption fee includes the cost of transport.
