Meet Lincoln: A Golden Heart Seeking His Golden Years Home

Lincoln is a 10-year-old lemon beagle with a heart full of hope and a lifetime of stories written in his soulful eyes. This sweet boy has weathered more storms than any dog should, yet he greets each new day with a wagging tail eager for belly rubs and the forgiving spirit that makes beagles so special.

We believe Lincoln's early years were spent as a hunting dog, which eventually led him to a shelter in 2024. His luck had turned around when he found what was supposed to be his forever home; then in January of this year, tragedy struck. His beloved mama passed away, and once again, Lincoln's world was turned upside down.

But this story isn't over yet. Lincoln is now in the loving care of BBRH, where we've come to know him as the gentle, sweet, steadfast companion he truly is. At 10 years old, he's looking for something simple but profound: a very special human and a loving home to call his own. Someone who understands that the best chapters can still be written, and that golden years are meant to be spent in comfort, security, and love.

Lincoln gets along very well with other dogs, kids and cats! He's the whole package!, he just doesn't want any of them near his food bowl while he's eating.Within two weeks, Lincoln has mastered using the dog door and reliably does his business outside, proving you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!

After a thorough veterinary checkup, we learned that Lincoln has a heart murmur that requires daily medication for the rest of his life. The good news? He's responding very well to treatment. His ideal forever home will have limited stairs to keep things easy on him, a dog door for convenient bathroom breaks, and most importantly, a dedicated person who will ensure he gets his daily medication, monthly heartworm treatment, and lots of snuggles and cuddles.
