He was supposed to die.
At 13 years old, Jack the beagle was brought to the Pinellas County Animal Shelter in Largo, FL by his family with a request to euthanize him. Instead, the shelter paused and asked if anyone would give him a second chance.
We said YES. Tonight, after a 4+ hour journey made possible by an incredible network of rescuers and volunteers across Florida, Jack arrived in South Florida safe.
But his story isn't over. It's just beginning. Jack is a senior who has been through a lot. He has a significant heart condition, painful dental disease, and a few concerning masses that will need to be evaluated. Despite everything, he is heartworm negative. Most importantly, he is still here and still deserving of love.
Now we need your help. We are urgently looking for a foster home, someone patient and kind who can give Jack a soft place to land.
His medical care will be extensive. If you're able to donate, it will go directly toward giving Jack comfort, relief, and the care he needs.
From the shelter staff who advocated for him, to the volunteers who transported him, to our team at Town & Country Animal Hospital who will care for him, Jack is here because people cared.
Let's show him how much that care can mean.
