Flutter 9074 - Beagle Dog for Adoption in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida

Hi, everyone! My name is Flutter, and I'm a one year old, petite Beagle with the sweetest personality and a heart that's a little different from everyone else's! My life didn't start out the way it should have. I was rescued from Ridglan Farms, a testing facility, and shortly afterward, the wonderful people at Big Dog Ranch Rescue discovered I was born with a serious heart condition. But don't let that fool you - I have absolutely NO idea I'm supposed to be different!

Since going into foster care, I've blossomed into the happiest little girl! I've learned to walk on a leash, I'm house-trained, and I've discovered how wonderful it is to be loved! I play, explore, and even get the occasional case of the ZOOMIES! Sometimes I pant after running around, but I know when to take a break, and my breathing returns to normal within seconds. Otherwise, I've shown no noticeable symptoms and spend my days being the adorable, playful Beagle I was always meant to be!

Now, I do have a special little heart. I was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect (a hole in my heart), severe pulmonic stenosis, and aortic valve insufficiency. My rescue explored a specialized procedure at Colorado State University, but unfortunately, I wasn't a candidate. My condition is serious, and my future is uncertain, but my cardiologist has not recommended specific exercise restrictions. I'll need a family committed to my medication, veterinary care, and letting me enjoy life at my own pace.

The Beagle is a beloved breed known for its friendly nature, curious personality, and distinctive howl. These small to medium sized dogs are incredibly sociable and get along well with both humans and other pets. Beagles are curious and energetic, always eager to follow a scent with their incredible sense of smell, making them excellent hunting and tracking dogs. Their short coat is easy to maintain, and they are adaptable to various living environments, making them popular companions for families and individuals alike.
