Meet Momma Bridget Best, an approx. 4-year-old Beagle / Basset Hound / Lab mix, weighing 40 pounds (as of 2/15/26). This beauty was found as a stray on the streets of Tennessee, but was brought in with her puppies (the BEST litter) and has been doing pretty well. Now that the pups are old enough to be adopted, she's ready to be a pampered pooch and live the good life!
Bridget is friendly with people and is especially great with older kids. Younger kids may be a bit much for her, but she hopes there's no hard feelings! She'll always love them from a distance. And honestly? We respect that. She's fine to live with a family by herself, but if there's other dogs around, Bridget's favorite companions are those with low energy like her. This girl's super chill so if she can find a zen yoga buddy to do downward dog with her, all the better!
Bridget is working on being on a leash, but has experience with crates. While she does know how to use a dog door, she's not quite sure about a house without one, so she just asks for patience from her future family as she adjusts to your home and potty training. In exchange for your help, she'll give you lots of kisses and won't even make fun of you for tripping up the stairs of your home!
This girl can't wait to be your next family member! Bring Bridget home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.
Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
