Meet Bowie Best, a 6-month-old Beagle / Basset Hound / Lab mix, weighing around 20 pounds (as of 2/15/26). This boy hails from the BEST litter that were born to Momma Bridget Best (also adoptable and pictured) in Tennessee. Bowie can't wait to venture out from momma and find the best home for him! Pun intended.
Bowie is a sweet, happy pup who'll teach you to enjoy life when he's not chasing his own tail. But that counts too! He has no issues with other pups and loves children and strangers. He hasn't met cats yet, but he's hopeful he'll win them over just like everyone else in his life. They don't call him the "Best" for nothing!
This boy has no problem sharing food or staying in crates. While at his foster's he has been a wonderful boy. In fact, his foster even says "Bowie who would do well in any household. He is friendly with everyone and has had no problems with new environments." With glowing reviews like that, Bowie is sure he'll find his fur-ever home in no time!
Since he's still a puppy, he'll need love and patience from his family when it comes to potty training (though he can use a dog door so bonus points if you have), leashing and commands. With the right family, he'll grow to be the best family member he can be! He's gotta live up to his name after all!
Bring this fun-loving pup home today!
All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
