Beagle and Basset Hound Dogs Available for Adoption

PERCY

Beagle, Basset Hound
🇺🇸
Princeton, Massachusetts
February 26th
male, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

Percy is a five-year-old basset hound with a touch of beagle--black and white with handsome brown markings on his face and long, soulful features that earned him the nickname "Slinky Dog."

He was a found stray in TN, and despite whatever his life looked like before, Percy remained a happy, easygoing, good-natured boy.

Now in a foster home, Percy is being called the King of Moseying. He takes his time. He strolls. He explores. He is in no hurry to get anywhere--unless his dog friends are running ahead. Then he happily picks up the pace to stay with his pack.

He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with at least one playful companion. He enjoys being part of the group and clearly finds comfort and joy in canine friendships. He appears to be cat-friendly as well.

At five years old, Percy is past puppy chaos but still youthful, playful, and full of personality. He's sweet, steady, and the kind of dog who brings calm happiness wherever he goes.

If you're looking for a low-drama, dog-friendly, soulful hound who will mosey right into your heart, Percy is your guy.

ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
