DESCRIPTION
Friendly and social, Homer is a 5‑year‑old, 40‑pound beagle–basset mix with freckles, floppy ears and a big heart. Homer is easygoing; he gets along well with other dogs and enjoys meeting new humans. He's a cuddly, huggable, ball of fur with a lot of love to give.
Homie enjoyed the attention at his Petfinder photo shoot. He made everyone laugh as he stood and posed for us like a natural. We couldn't quite get a smile out of the big handsome guy, but we could tell he was having a good time.
Homer is neutered and fully vetted. He uses the doggy door to potty outside at the rescue. He is looking for a home with a fenced yard.
If you would like more information or if you would like to meet this sweet boy, please go to www.beagelsrus.org, read over the Adoption Process and then complete an application. PLEASE do not click the Start Your Inquiry Button on this page (thank you).
When we receive your application, we will be in touch asap to answer any questions and arrange a meet and greet if you would like. We will contact your vet and do a home visit prior to adoption. Beagles rrrrrrr Us offers a trial run option to ensure that you and your beagles are the right match. The adoption fee is $250 after successful trial run. All fees and donations go toward caring for the beagles who find their way to us.
Thank you for opting to help a homeless hound!
ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED
The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
The Beagle is a beloved breed known for its friendly nature, curious personality, and distinctive howl. These small to medium sized dogs are incredibly sociable and get along well with both humans and other pets. Beagles are curious and energetic, always eager to follow a scent with their incredible sense of smell, making them excellent hunting and tracking dogs. Their short coat is easy to maintain, and they are adaptable to various living environments, making them popular companions for families and individuals alike.
