I’m Pepe, a fun-loving Beagle/Basset Hound mix with a nose for adventure and a heart full of love. I’m about four years old and full of personality! Like any good hound, I love exploring the world through smells — whether I’m sniffing around the yard, discovering something new, or just enjoying some outdoor time.
I have a happy, playful energy and love to run around and have fun, but I also really enjoy being with my people. I’m the kind of dog who’s just as excited about playtime as I am about hanging out and being part of the family.
I do great with kids and other dogs, so I’d fit right in with a family or a home that already has canine companions. I’d thrive in a home where I can get plenty of exercise, outdoor adventures, and lots of attention.
If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate pup with a playful spirit and a loyal heart, I might just be your perfect match.
Pepe is fully vetted and ready to go. If you're interested in meeting Pepe, click on the ‘Start your Inquiry’ button to fill out an Adoption Inquiry Form or visit our website and fill out an application at www.lonestarpawz.com

ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED
The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
The Beagle is a beloved breed known for its friendly nature, curious personality, and distinctive howl. These small to medium sized dogs are incredibly sociable and get along well with both humans and other pets. Beagles are curious and energetic, always eager to follow a scent with their incredible sense of smell, making them excellent hunting and tracking dogs. Their short coat is easy to maintain, and they are adaptable to various living environments, making them popular companions for families and individuals alike.
