Meet Ren, our spirited 11-month-old female Basset Hound/Pit mix looking for her forever home. She is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to start her next chapter with a loving family.

Ren absolutely adores people and thrives on attention and affection. She isn’t a fan of cats and can be selective with other dogs, but once she feels comfortable, her playful and loving personality really shines.

She weighs about 50 pounds and is likely fully grown. Ren is currently being fostered in Texas and would make a loyal, fun companion for the right home.

Ren was originally dumped near the paper mill in Texarkana, Texas, but despite that rough start, she hasn’t lost her sweet spirit. She’s ready for a second chance with someone who will give her the love she deserves.

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
