Basset Hound and Shepherd Dogs Available for Adoption

MAVERICK

Basset Hound, Shepherd
🇺🇸
Locust Fork, Alabama
March 16th
male, medium, adult

DESCRIPTION

This cutie pie is Maverick. He's a Basset/Shepherd mix which is obvious in his good looks! (He's called a “low rider.”) Maverick is one year old and weighs 44 pounds. His foster says he's fun, vocal and sweet. She also says he's quite the curious boy. Add to all of that, and his dog friendliness, and you have a fine boy with a great temperament and, oh course, those short legs!!! (posted 2/5/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **

ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
