ELLIE

Basset Hound, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Wilkesboro, North Carolina
March 22nd
female, large, baby

DESCRIPTION

Hi! I'm Ellie, an 8 week old female Bassett Hound. I’m a bundle of joy wrapped in wagging tails and playful barks. Every day, I'm on a mission to spread happiness around me. I love playing with my toys, enjoying treats, and making new friends. My favorite part of the day is curling up in my foster moms lap.

Ellie is one of our ambassador dogs! Her adoption fee of $400 helps cover expenses for other fosters who need more medical or long term care. Ellie is not spayed yet but she is UTD on vaccinations, on preventatives and microchipped.

Ellie will be available on Wednesday March 25,2026 pending her health check with our veterinarian.

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the application at the following link https://www.humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application or contact Jennifer at fireball7705@yahoo.com with any questions.

ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
