Miss Luna is looking for her new forever home. She’s a 3 year old basset hound mix with the cutest little freckles, and a low-rider frame.
Luna is sprayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. She’s crated trained (although it takes a few minutes for her to settle), and house trained. She will sleep through the night in a crate. She hasn’t had any accidents in her foster’s home, but they also take their dogs out frequently.
Luna is a shy girl, but she is good with people and though she seems nervous she approaches new friendly willingly. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but she is good around very small dogs (chihuahuas). She’s also good with dogs who are not high-energy. She’d prefer to be around a dog who isn’t bouncing off the walls.
Luna walks fine on a leash but does need reassurance. She also likes to cuddle and tends to jump up when she’s uncomfortable in an attempt for more reassurance. She hasn’t shown any signs of resource guarding, and takes treats well when other dogs are around.
Luna could exist in a home as an only dog, or with other dogs who are going to be patient with her. She’s looking for someone who is going to help her come out of her shell and feel more confident. She is a beautiful and sweet girl who was separated from her pack because “They had too many and needed to cut down.” She’s really looking for someone who understands that rescue dogs are not immediately perfect and has a vested interest in making sure that she is loved and valued. She’s going to be someone’s very best friend. Could it be you?
