Meet Mingo 🐾
Mingo is a guessed Australian Shepherd mix with a story that proves just how resilient puppies can be. He was found alone on someone’s front porch and brought to a shelter, and the very next day he became a Rubies and Rogues pup.
At first, it was believed that Mingo may have been paralyzed, but after further evaluation it was discovered that he has a congenital birth defect similar to spina bifida. While Mingo will likely always walk a little differently than other dogs, the most important thing to know is this: he is not in pain, and he continues to improve every day.
In a short amount of time, Mingo has gone from being very weak and barely able to move on his own to running and scooting around with confidence. His progress has been incredible to witness.
Mingo does well pottying on a puppy pad in his playpen as needed and keeps himself and his bedding clean. He has learned how to navigate his space and adapts beautifully to his routine.
This sweet boy is deeply loved by his foster family and has a very special bond with his foster sibling, Clay (a 2-year-old human best friend who proudly carries him around). Mingo thrives on love, affection, and being part of a family.
We know Mingo will need a home that understands he’s a little different — but also one that sees how capable, joyful, and deserving he is. If you’re looking for a truly special pup with a huge heart and a whole lot of determination, Mingo may be your perfect match.
