Stellah is fostered in Oconomowoc, WI
Welcome little Miss Stellah! Stellah is a 3 year old female black tri Australian Shepherd, who currently weighs about 30 lbs. She was surrendered to us by a couple who lived in a busy part of town and this created some issues for Miss Stellah. Stellah has really settled in nicely with her calm, yet confident, housemates who help reassure her that even when her favorite people leave the house, there's no need to worry! She has enjoyed learning how to just be a ‘dog.'
Stellah enjoys taking turns chasing and being chased, gentle wrestling, rolling around and hopping around in the yard like a little bunny rabbit. This little girl loves to play ball and she is super fast! She will play ball all day long even napping with them!
Stellah does great at the dog park, checking back in often with her foster mom and comes when called. Stella enjoys playing with kitties who are dog-savvy, just occasionally needs to be reminded that cats don't have the same level of energy! Stellah loves car rides, travels very well and has done great on walks, again feeling more at ease with a confident dog along side. Although she has been crate trained, Stellah does do better during the day snoozing on the floor or in her dog bed. She is very well behaved inside. She is kenneled every night albeit a little reluctantly, but is typically quiet all night long.
Stellah's ideal home would be in a quiet neighborhood preferably with a fenced in yard. She does have a good recall but not quite 100%. She does prefer another confident dog companion and/or dog savvy cats. Her ideal family would be an adult family who works from home or is gone for short periods of time. No children under 10 years of age. She has had lots of training but would do well with continued classes to continue to build her confidence.
Stellah is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations and receiving monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworms. She does require a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.
NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
