At just 5 months old, Great Barrier Reef and his mom were spotted crossing a busy highway — dodging traffic, in real danger. A kind-hearted woman saw them, brought them both home and set out to find them families. The mom found hers quickly, but for no good reason, Reef waited for more than a year with no adoption interest.
That's where we came in. We heard about this overlooked puppy and decided to bring him up to New York City, where we knew the right family was waiting. Sometimes it just takes finding your ocean.
Now almost two years old, Reef has grown from a scruffy highway puppy into a gorgeous, even-tempered, and delightful dog. He’s a smart cookie who listens well and is welcoming towards people, dogs and cats. Having grown up in a loving foster home, he has acquired excellent manners and carries himself with easy confidence.
Great Barrier Reef is fostered in Tarrytown, NY, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet him. To get the adoption process started, please send us an application at https://bit.ly/rosr-adopt-foster.
